Uploading Your Images (No VPN Needed)
When OmniPACS was designed an emphasis was placed on making it as user-friendly as possible while still offering a superior level of security. We wanted it to be as easy as possible so that anyone could sign up and get started without having any specialized IT knowledge. In the past transmitting images off-site has required a VPN or some other complicated encryption technology. It can be costly to purchase the equipment and time consuming to set up. We got rid of all that when we introduced our OmniRouter software. Take a look at the goals we had when we set out to make OmniRouter:

If you’ve ever installed a software program before, then you can install OmniRouter. No special hardware or software is required. Any Windows PC will work. We have kept the program simple and easy to setup by focusing on its main task: getting your images to the cloud securely. Also, because OmniRouter is DICOM compatible you can send from virtually any DICOM medical imaging equipment or PACS.

How We Protect Your Files
Image Transmission
When your medical imaging data is being uploaded and downloaded we use military grade encryption technology to protect it. That means that your studies are encrypted at all times when being transferred to and from our OmniPACS data centers.
Image Storage
OmniPACS offers a true cloud PACS solution and in doing that we keep multiple copies of all your data at geographically distinct data centers on both East and West coasts. We’ve implemented strict network defense and intrusion detection technologies so that while your images are not being accessed by authorized users, they are completely safe and encrypted. In addition, our data centers use the highest level of physical security that prevent access to the drives and servers where your data is housed.
Access Control
Every OmniPACS account is given complete control over who and when any of your medical images can be accessed. Permissions can be granted to share data on a single study basis or you have the power to setup comprehensive rules of access for other users. You can grant or revoke access permissions at any time directly from your OmniPACS login.
